Since ever thought about owning my own house I’ve wanted to build bike trial. Well today I started making it happen. The roll in off the deck is a must. With will be followed by a large hump built around and old tree stump on its side, a banked 90* right hand turn, then a series of rhythms leading into a banked right hand U turn, followed by another large hump what should let you pump up some speed for a small jump, then a banks 90* left. Very simple. I need to rider dirt. I’ve never order dirt before. Very exciting stuff.

May need to incorporate a good skinny, and maybe an S curve. I need to do some measuring and figure how much space I actually have.

We have a go-kart track in our yard (we’re out in the country on 10 acres). A buddy was over the other day to drop something off, and I jokingly asked if he wanted to take his Raptor around on it . H e took me up on it - I think we got a little air! Thankfully it was dry - ha!

ooh! I just started the same thing! Laid out a couple of 2x6's on the dirt for skinnies. Bricks for low speed slalom. Large left over mound of dirt. Thinking about trucking in more dirt.

You now got me thinking about cinder blocks to practice climbing ledges. Post more ideas as you go.

My ideas would get people hurt so I’m going to give you a hint and watch from the sidelines.

If you have good sized spikes that will hold a board into the ground firmly. Constructing a more complicated skinny for practice in this manner will help you revise your ideas and find your own capabilities. Hopping the front or rear wheel to keep “aboard” is where trials separates from North shore riding.

My preference is more towards combinations of obstacles in close proximity making extreme weight shifts during low to zero speed maneuvers a full body workout.  Or flowy courses with jumps and off camber turns etc.

I’m trying to keep this pretty simple as I want my 11 year old to be able to ride everything safely. But some low skinnies would make things more fun. I’ve already ridden up and down that 2x6 ramp a few times. Up is scarier than down lol

Ground level skinnies with maybe a small bump are enjoyable for everyone.  Keep having fun.
